Lorenzo Quinn - Gravedad / Gravity
It is essential to find a balance in life; a balance that is often achieved with the help of the people who surround us and hold us firmly to the ground.
LORENZO QUINN (Rome, 1966).
A keen sense of balance, combined with upper body strength fused with mental agility maintain the equilibrium of the two characters which serve the focal point of celebrated contemporary sculpture, Lorenzo Quinn’s most recent bronze cast foray observed here.
‘Gravity’ pits a man and woman balanced precariously on a precipice, the later connected only by her hands to the former as he sits above her, apparently lowering her down into an unknown abyss.
This is pure Quinn territory, which we know so well from his countless previous 3-D outings, which normally rely more on the hands alone to do his talking on his behalf.
Standing a fraction under 14 inches in height, ‘Gravity’ is offered as a limited edition study, complete with individual number and signature of the artist as part and parcel of the package.
